It gives them a virtual home where they can keep their important work going despite the curveballs life may throw their way. We've built this digital space where brilliant minds can connect, share ideas, and support each other through transitions—whether they're dealing with relocations, institutional changes, or other disruptions that might otherwise slow their research momentum.
We're creating something that works in two complementary ways: a buzzing Discord server where daily collaboration happens naturally, plus regular in-person meetups where those online connections deepen into something special. Our Discord channels let everyone find their niche, jump into voice chats when inspiration strikes, or share resources at 3 AM if that's when genius happens. Meanwhile, our face-to-face events provide those irreplaceable moments where a casual conversation over coffee might spark the next big research breakthrough, along with support in finding their way in the new scientific world. It's the best of both worlds for researchers who need community now more than ever.

We are excited to announce our first in person event, Terminus PGH, to be held on Friday, May 16th from 3-7pm at the Ascender co-working space in Pittsburgh. This event is open to everyone interested in advancing science. It's focused primarily on those scientists who are facing disruption, and those who may be able to support them. We've heard from you that community and networking are top priorities along with skills development and job opportunity. We aim to support these requests with both networking and specific speakers covering relevant topics in the first half of your event (3-5pm) along with a look at the start up world for science, opportunities and challenges, in the second half (5-7pm) with more informal networking.
